WHO IS JOE BLACK?

Joe Black is a cabaret singer, musician & artist based in Brighton, UK.

Inspired by the cabaret, music hall and ‘low-culture’ entertainment of early 20th century Britain and Europe. His work often explores the darkly comic, macabre or surreal. With a combination of captivating storytelling and acerbic song, seamlessly mixing the taste of pre war Weimar Berlin cabaret with a British seaside music hall sensibility.

Since 2007 He has toured extensively across the UK & Europe. As well as appearances in Australia and America. He has written, performed and toured 6 full length shows - indulgent dark cabaret ‘Sex, Drugs & Vaudeville’(2011), the introspective and autobiographical ‘Ginfully Yours’ (2014), a love letter to pre war Berlin ‘Meet Me At The Eldorado’ (2016), a tribute to the villainous fictional characters that shaped his early years ‘Touch Of Evil: A Celebration Of Villainy In Song’ (2018), full throttle punk show meets cabaret concert ‘Decopunk’ (2019 & 2021), and an ode to change, death and disruption ‘Club Cataclysm’ (2022)
